Everyone has good suggestions. I would not put myself on the slab between Dallas abd South Texas on that weekend. Tons of idiot cages and lots of roadwork. That 16 trip is nice. Heading towards abilene and coming down 83 84 or 87 are all good trips too. River Road around New Braunfels is nice. Anywhere east of 35 heading north/south is nice.
