Well, I've been riding since i got my lic. at sixteen, ( lot's of years ago ) and this is my first honda shadow.
Was looking around for a while and did a lot of research before buying anything, but finally purchased a 2002 Honda Shadow 750 ACE deluxe, I have not ridden it very far, maybe a mile to get it home, but I must say it seems to be quite the bike, it has sixteen thousand miles an when I went to look at it it looked as if it was just off the showroom floor, even my wife was impressed, and she really doesn't want me to have another bike. So now it sits in my driveway, covered up waiting for a good sunny day, where I can give it a good test ride, paid 2'300 for it, I hope it goes as good as it looks.
Before I got it the guy said it had a small accident, there is a dent in the tank and some superficial scratches on the front fender, all in all not bad, when I rode it home it seemed the handelbars were a fraction off of being straight with the front wheel, looked at fork tubes and the left one has a very small dent about 3/4 of the way up the tube, should replace those I think, but I really don;t want to pay 300 to 400 for new tubes, any suggestions ?
Other than that and given that I have not ridden very far..... at the moment I am pleased with my purchase , let's hope I didn't buy a lemon though .
