That is a crossover tube which most dual exhaust vehicles have now days but most of the exhaust/pressure still flow thru their individual pipe/muffler but see/call it what you want and I do understand your perspective on this. I'm sure with a little vigilance the OP will get this problem solved. H*ll he got all of all us now doesn't he?
