Are you certain it's from the gear box and not the head? Does the ticking stay in rhythm with the engine's idle? When you say it happens at different speeds, does it noticeably change pitch with gear changes? When you disengage the clutch, what happens to the sound? What kind of oil are you running? Have you checked the level? When you changed the sprocket, was it the front or rear? You sure the rear wheel is aligned properly?
