About a year. My first bike was a VLX. I bought it because I'm only 5'6" and wanted something low. Always thought it'd just be a running around town/commuter bike until the first time I hit an expressway with it. Being a fat guy, I needed something with a little more "oomph" so I ended up going with an 1100 Spirit. I still love that VLX though. It fits me perfectly. If only there were an 1100 or larger on the same frame...
