I starting specing out what I will need to make these. I am headed to Lowes to see if they carry the 1/4" lexan. If not, I found some one ebay and the seller will even cut the pieces to the size I want.

1/4" Thick Clear Polycarbonate (Lexan) Sheets

Excellent idea! I googled and found the link above that looks to be very fair on pricing. You'd have to email them for the 5.5X15 inch size to be cut. Their 6X12 inch runs just $4.67 a piece. Lowes has the angle aluminum and stainless hose clamps. I'll have to try it.

Hey Guys and Gals-----Screw the nay saye'rs, if it works and pleases you, that is all that is required. Some people are happy with garage queens, and others ride. It is your ride, make it work for YOU! Love my Sabre and have changed it enough to work for ME!

Spoke with Dan last night, he said the original design made the bike run a lot hotter. So just pay close attention if you go with the original design, I am making them to mount between fairing and turn sigs. My bike has a lot of buffeting with fairing or windshield, these will be the ticket. Pics will come when I make them.

So you are making just mids and not lowers? I saw Dan's heat comments in his earlier posts but I thought some other folks indicated they did not have that problem. I am still trying to visualize how putting these on the outside of the forks affects the airflow to the radiator.

Its their shipping that costs you. They qouted me $26 to have two 5.5x15 x 1/4" pieces shipped to me in Kansas City. At first I figured that was due to the custom cuts so I just added two piece of stock 6x18 to the cart for the same zip code and the price came back as $11.74 for the plastic and $16.39 for shipping = total $28.13.

The air for the radiator has to pass the forks to get to radiator. He said on his bike it was a serious issue.
Yes I started making a set yesterday, they will be done this weekend probably.
