Default Viking bags

I just ordered these for my 750 Aero:

http://www.vikingbags.com/Honda-Shad...-6142-prd1.htm

They're plain but that's what I was looking for. Great price, $219, and come WITH brackets. The shock cutout is supposed to make for a nice tight fit to the bike while eliminating the need to relocate the turn signals.

Hope they work out as well as they claim they will.
Let ya know.....

I also got these, they didn't fit we'll on my 07 750. I still haven't put them on. Only one bolt lines up with the bag. Ill have to make a bracket.

The bags themselves look very good.

I have similar although maybe not the same manufacturer.
I like them.
I have them mounted with Quick Release brackets.

maninblack -- let me know just how well this works out. It looks like it might be a reasonable option and I, too, have a Phantom.

Default Update

The bags look great but, even though they were listed on their website as being compatible with my bike, they really don't work out as well as I expected.
Here's what I wrote in my request for a return authorization:

"The bags appear to be of good quality but do not fit well on my 2004 Shadow Aero. In order to hard-mount (my preference) I would have to drill at least one hole in each fender rail, get longer bolts, and somehow seal the existing holes where the yoke presently attaches to the bags. It also seems that with the width of the brackets added to the width of the fender rail the bags end up so far away from the side of the fender that it defeats the purpose of the shock cutout; the bags are already out beyond the shocks. This also would make for an unattractive (in my opinion) throw-over installation. In addition I find that the closure system for the bags, while effective, is inconvenient and requires almost a three-handed technique; separating both velcro closures front and back while also keeping the twist-locks on the side from re-entering their holes."

I got a quick response and the bags are on their way back. Hopefully I'll be refunded promptly although it did end up costing me about $50 (total) in shipping.

I do like that Viking ships their bags with both brackets and a throw-over yoke. I don't like that the yoke is already attached to the bags and, unless you use the yoke or are able to use the existing holes, those holes need to be sealed.

Anyone having better fitment with their bags on a similar bike?
