Default Melted rubber on pipes..

I have something baked onto my pipes behind the foot peg, Im guessing its from the sole of a shoe. Any suggestions for getting it off? I dont want to scuff up the pipe.

When I came back from a ride and the pipe was hot, I used a hard plastic ice scraper.
It worked for me.

I had the same thing happen right after I got my bike. I ran the piss out of it and got it real hot. Used a spray on Chrome polish from the Honda shop. As soon as I sprayed it on the hot pipes the rubber or whatever it is hardened up and fell off. Then I could just wipe off the polish. I noticed I had a few specks left over, but with polishing it out over the next week worked great. You can't even tell there was anything there now.

I've used CeramaBrite ceramic stovetop cleaner to remove baked on rubber from cold chrome and non-coated stainless (like exhaust) with great results . Works better than any cleaner I've tried ; it's very strong yet gentle enough to not scratch the surface .
