Default Learned my lesson

Well, I left for work at 5:00 this morning, got about 3 miles down the road when she started to spit and sputter. No big deal, right? Just reach down and switch to reserve. It was then that I realized that I never switched it back to the main the last time I filled up. So I took a 3 mile walk back home to get the cage. Stupid me!

Whenver I switch to reserve I slide the cover on my gas filler cap over to remind me of that. Tough lesson at 5am.

If your bike has an off position you should get into the habit of turning it off whenever you park your bike. Has the bonus of preventing this sort of situation.

his issue was he switched to reserve, filled up and then went through an entire tank + reserve without ever touching the lever (which was left in the reserve position from prior to his last fill-up). Not that he switched to reserve and then ran it dry.

At least that's how I read it.

I reset my trip meter every time I fill up. At 100 miles, it's time to get gas. Reserve or not
