Default just did the hole saw

And I gotta say, I'm impressed! I bought an extra set of stock pipes just in case the mod sucked, but I think I'm keeping the hole saw'd pipes on!

I have videos on YouTube, just search user name ken99287.

have you experienced any performance issues since doing it? What bike did you do it on?

I did this same mod to my 2003 Sabre and thought the same thing. This will hold me over unit i can afford a new set of pipes. It does not sound as good as aftermarket pipes but atleast ppl around me will now hear me.

The only adjustments i had to make was to adjust the fuel screw out about 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn. The bike could really use one size bigger pilot jet but that will have to wait. I did notice that the bike seemed to have a little more pick up.

Did you remove BOTH baffles or just the rear ones? That is what I did and adjusted the A/F jets, synched the carbs and love the sound and yeah, I SEEMED to notice a little difference in get up and go. Won't waste a dime on aftermarket pipes and the ensuing jetting problems it can bring about. I didn't buy a sportbike, nor a huge touring bike, I bought a well formulated all around cruiser bike and it does everything I could ever hope for. Yup, love my Sabre!

The hole saw mod just removes the rear resonator. It does nothing for the baffles, so no modification to the carb is required. Said another way, removing the rear resonator does nothing to the air flow.

I did this to my old Spirit. Sounded better, but no performance gains. Did miss the resonators on long trips. And I did see where a guy modified his pipes so he could screw the resonators in and out. For in town he left them loud. On long trips, he quieted things down.

its on a vlx. Haven't ridden it much yet. Just around the neighborhood. Sounds good, but not nearly as nice as the v&h does (the guy I bought the stock exhaust from had it). Also, nowhere close to how my boulevard sounded with v&h.

Its good enough for now, I suppose.

I did both resonators, but I uploaded three videos. 1 - stock, 2 - just the rear done, 3 - both done.
