I have Saddlemen Highwayman (Medium Size) saddlebags and like the size/look. Now, I only paid around $64 for them through Dennis Kirk and realize that you get what you pay for. So far they have been fine for what I need and have held up just fine.

Leather saddle bags I'm not a fan of. But I like to get some medium size ones. I looked at a few.

Saddlemen Cruiser Slant Style (large, although they are really not that big, but fit nicely on the Spirit)
