For sale locally: 2006 VTX 1800 - 168 miles (no joke). $7,495. Probably a slammer deal. Not sure if I need/want that much engine. Curious as to what members think of the 1800.
Ditto. I'd rather buy a bike with 20k miles on it that I know was maintained well. You're gonna be in for some expense with that 10 year old no mileage bike. Things go bad just sitting. You'll need new tires and a battery for starters.
That price is about $1500 high according to KBB. I road a couple of VTX a few years ago and I didn't care for it at all during low speed riding. It was very cumbersome and heavy. Once on the open road it was good. Tons of power and handling was ok.
I tried to upright one off its sidestand, no way w/o fear dumping it to otherside. Very top heavy thus telling me it was a bit of a pig to handle @ low speeds. Next bike please.
VTX 1800 is a fun bike to me. But, they are not for beginners! To me the top heavy wasn't too bad. The Valk Interstate is heavier feeling to me, but it adds a lot more top weight than the standard does.
VTX 1800 power is great, they are super fun, but the 10 yrs of sitting could be bad.
