A$$ pain--WTF

Hi guys, I'm developing tailbone pain (not buttock pain but the bone at the end of my spine). This is my first bike with forward controls and I'm starting to think this might be the culprit. I'm thinking of putting the gear shifter and rear brake lever back to the OEM settings. Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do to solve the problem?

Thanks,

Stock honda seat did that to me on 2 shadows. Sold one bike, got a Mustang on the replacement and all was better. Traded the seat and some cash for a Mustang on the spirit and it was all better. Culprit I bet is the seat.. but I have been wrong once...

Is that your seat in your avatar? If so, I agree with Coop. But I've been wrong way more than once.

I went to your garage, saw the whole seat, is it a corbin,, daytripper, or something like that?

2006 vlx , gone but never will forget it.

I'm not sure I don't see a name on it and I bought the bike used.

Take the seat off. Should a tag on the bottom if it is aftermarket.

It looks like the pegs are stock. They are in the same position as the 06 750 spirit we had.
See could be a shaved down, recovered stock seat, I'd bet it is. Color looks great, if it is the issue go to a local upholstery shop, ask about upgrading foam, they may shock you at how cheap they can!

No tag but bottom of seat looks like it was re-upholstered. The only marking I see are a partial MCR. There is room to the left of the M so it could have been a letter there.

Phantom Rider 64 posted this site about motorcycle seat repair and recovering, a lot of good info. I have wanted to widen my seat and take some of the pressure off my tail bone also. I haven't got it done yet.

Thanks Swifty2014. I'm going to use the graphic as a blue print to get my seat upholstered and thanks Coop for pointing out that my controls are in the OEM position.

We love to help one another here. I may not currently own a shadow, but have owned them and know them ok.
I stay around cuz I have lots of great friends here. Some I like better than family! Hell most are better than some of my family!
