I just wanted to know how the tires work. I have a 95 1100 ACE with a rear tire that someone rode so much that the rubber and threading wore out so there's a huge hole in the tire. The tire is on a spoke wheel and I didn't know if I can just replace the tire or if theres and inner tube and if so should I replace that too.
You have a tube in your tire unless some one sealed the rim. A rubber valve stem will tell you if it is a tube. Does your bike still have the whitewall? If so, the tires I took off my bike still have some miles in them. The rear is the better of the 2. if you want it. I would give it to you for just the cost of shipping. probably 15 or so I would guess. I will post up a picture if you are interested. I will also check the tread depth as well. I would guess it still has about 5k or so left. The tires have about 6k or so on them. I sealed my rims so I could go tubeless. I am not on here much right now. I got hit with a good colt that seems to be mostly in my eyes. Send me a text if you want and I will check back here.
Pretty much ALL spoked rims have tubed tires on them. Yours, most likely, also has a tube in the tire, which you should replace at the same time as the tire. Balancing beads or Ride On sealant are both good ideas for balancing (though you can't use BOTH at the same time), so you don't have to have those ugly weights stuck on the rims.
