The guy actually did himself. Deer never touched him.

Panic braked, locked up the wheels and washed out the front end. After that it was all over....very difficult to recover from.

As much as I dislike ABS, it likely would have kept him up in this situation. Damned forest vermin...

You woke me up, for this???

Yeah I agree it looks like he did himself in. Even if he'd cracked the throttle he would have been OK. With experience comes the knowledge that brakes are not always the right response. My guess is he never saw the deer until it was leaping over his bike. Peripheral vision...use it.

Kinda hard to fault the rider - after all it was the G.D. Deer that ran right into them...
I got no use for deer - they do nothing - eat grass, poop, and make little deers.
They don't even taste good.
