Time For a Bigger Bike?

Hey, guys! So, I've been riding my '03 Shadow 750 for a few years now, and having taken some longer trips on it, I've decided I'd like something a bit more comfortable on the highway. I love the Shadow, and will probably keep it for commuting to work and zipping around town. But for longer trips, I'd like to move to a bigger chassis and motor to help soak up the irregularities in the pavement and allow me to relax just a bit.

I'm looking at new bikes in the following families:
- Harley Fatboy/Fatboy S
- Harley Road King
- Indian Chief Darkhorse
- Indian Chief Classic
- Honda Stateline
- Honda Interstate
- Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 (there's a brand-new '12 at a dealership near me)

I'm trying to stay in the neighborhood of $200/mo on the loan payment, so probably MSRP should stay around $19k. I would like to get your opinions on anything that I may be over-looking and also any advice on what I should be looking for. This is my first new bike purchase, so I want to make sure I make the right choice.

I appreciate all of the advice and help you guys have given me over the last couple years!

I thought about the Goldwing too, but a) it doesn't quite fit my budget, and b) I still want a bike that looks more vintage...

How many months are you planning on financing? $19k at 60 months, with 0% is still well over $300 a month.

I'd go for the Road King or Vulcan. on the Goldwing.

Are you pondering what I'm pondering?

Excellent point about the payments... but I'm also going to have a decent down payment... north of $4k down, which leaves me in the ~ $250/mo neighborhood.

I wish Honda still made the VTX... I wouldn't even be debating...

The new Indians are nice. I am very happy with my Roadmaster.

Yeah, I sat on a chief darkhorse at the dealer... I'm waiting for their demo days next weekend to take a ride... It was super comfy though...

Another Honda to consider is the CTX1300. I believe msrp is around $17K. If the looks don't put you off, they are pretty nice and capable.

Another consideration could be the Suzuki C90T. It has the more vintage look and within the budget. If I could I would be buying one of these.
