Helmet opinions

What is everyone's opinion on helmet style full face half face or bucket? I have a full face and I'm not sure if I like it. I wear my sunglasses and I usually keep my visor up it is a tinted visor so when it's down it makes is a bit dark. Thanks happy rides

Full face for me. I wear glasses so there should not be any difference between wearing glasses and sun glasses. Put your helmet on first and then put on your sun glasses.

Once I tried a modular, I was hooked. Nice to be able to open the chin bar when needed.

I am looking at the Shark modular. Just not sure about how the round shape will work with my head shape,,,intermediate oval.

I have a ff modular and a 1/2 bucket. Prefer the 1/2, but wear the other in cool weather. I feel I can see and hear better with it.

On my Ace with a full windshield, I wore a beanie helmet. With this bike, I get all the wind and Tinnitus and loud wind noise don't go together, even with ear plugs, so it's full face for me now. They take a little while to get used to because you feel like your vision is restricted. You've got to remember to turn your head more when doing lane checks or glancing over to see where the traffic is.

Have a 3/4, a FF Modular, and a FF Dual Sport lid. I wear glasses with them all as I do like to ride visor-up. I guess it would depend on exactly which helmet you get of any description as to whether you can comfortably wear glasses with them. All three of my lids allow me to comfortably wear glasses, so, I don't think style of helmet has much to do with being able to wear eyewear at all.

I boxed-up my 3/4 Arai CTZ long ago, at the speeds I usually travel it just wasn't aerodynamic enough and buffeting was an issue. I used to favor my Schuberth C3 Pro Modular, nothing at all negative to say about that helmet, it's a great lid; but these days I pretty-much always wear my Arai XD4 as the peak on it really helps with battling the Arizona sun, it's very light and has a HUGE eyeport. Very comfortable too. I think the Schuberth edges it out on comfort and aerodynamics, but not by much.

I would suggest heading down to the helmet store and just trying some on. You can get a helmet which better fits (both you and your glasses), something that ticks all your boxes without needing to worry about fit and features as you do when ordering online.

3/4 used most often

I keep going back to my 3/4, mostly for the increased visibility. I have full-face and modular which I use in cooler weather. I feel safer with better peripheral vision. I wear ear plugs to mitigate the higher wind noise.

Growing old is inevitable, Growing up is optional.
