Default Honda Shadow 750 ACE???

I have a Shadow Spirit 750 C2. A friend just picked up a 2001 Shadow 750 ACE. What are the differences between the two bikes? If anyone owns an ACE, what do you think of it?

Inquiring minds want to know...

I have a 2003 750 ace, it is chain drive (I was able to change out my rear sprocket to lower my rpm's), fatter front tire, bigger fenders, two carbs (you have one I think) that is just a few things that come to mind.

The biggest difference is that the ACE has a single pin crank.

I think that is the older 1100 ace.

The difference with the ACE is that it's WAY cooler

I guess its the "styling" of the ACE series that sets it apart from other Shadow models past and present. The ACE (American Classic Edition) was designed to be similar to the basic Harley bike. Beach bars, fat upper forks, gauges on the tank, fat front tires etc. Old school. Retro. Classic lines.

They sh*t and git faster than the Aero/Spirit shaft driven models as well.

Had a '01 ACE that I sold in Aug. 09; just bought a '98 ACE that I have yet to pick up, but will be doing some...changes...to it.

The ACE, to me, is more like a hot-rod. The Aero, more a laid-back cruiser.

When looking for my bike, I found several Spirit's in my price range, but I chose the ACE mainly for aesthetic reasons. First and foremost... a motorcycle MUST have a rear fender that flows toward the ground. The designers of the spirit must have ran out of money, because part of the hind end is missing in my opinion. 2001 and newer ACEs have the speedo on the gas tank. I despise that little tin can on the handlebars arrangement. The cable looks bad, the instrument looks bad. No style. And, to be totally honest, I like the "American Classic Edition" badge. Basically, I love my bike, and no other can compare... except maybe an aero, or a Boulevard.
