Hey Toker:
Them 15EEE's create a lot of wind resistance. You would likely be good for another 10mph if you wore a size 8.

We have had the Rocket to 90mph (briefly). That is fast a plenty.

We trudge on.

Their is a NICE abounded Air Force base in my city that has LOTS of nice long smooth roads.

[quote="metalguy"]Are these speed claims based on your speedometer? If so, I am definately one of the naysayers that third and over triple digits ain't gonna happen. Use a GPS to gage your actual speed. [/quote']

I have yet to see anyone post any legit info showing that the Honda's Speedos are off in any way. And even if they are, I hit 105 in 3rd according to my speedo. I will believe it for now until someone else PROVES differently.

My feet literally start "flying" at 100 mph and are VERY hard to keep on the pegs.

All you have to do is look at the mfgs specs for your gear ratios and what RPM the engine would need to turn to make that *actual* speed.

It ain't gonna happen because of the rev. limiter.

I'll never know how fast I was going because I did not have my GPS mounted at the time, but the speedo stops at 130 around 4 O'clock, the needle turns around past the temp light at around 5 O'clock, past the trip meter at 6 O'clock, then was starting to nudge the oil light at around 7 O'clock.

Of course, I did this after topping off the tank with a gallon of high performance nitromethane airplane engine fuel and 108 octane boost.

I felt it had some more to go, but was running out of road.

If I had to estimate, it was around 168 MPH.

Back in about 1994 I went 105 mph (at least that's what the speedo said) on my 1989 CB400F. These days I won't break 75, and prefer back roads at 60 or less. I don't have a death wish, and try ride safe.

at stock my vlx has done 100mph, since dropping to a 41 tooth from the stock 44 tooth sprocket max is around 95,, with nothing left,,65-80 is real comfortable.,, oh I regularly hit 70mph in 3rd,, only have 4 gears.

On a 1972 Kawasaki 750 H-2 Mach 3 with 15/38 tooth sprockets.

153 MPH @ 13.5k RPM

On my ACE?

I ran it up to 105 on the speedo once after I holesawed the exhaust.

That's probably somewhere between 90 and 95 actual. I don't have a GPS.

The problem with the ACE is that it sounds really good between 55 and 60.

I agree. My Spirit's rev limiter kicks in @ 85 mph in third on the stock speedo. Dressed as in my pic, 108 mph.
