Default Thoughts on Ace Tourer 99'

I just found an ACE tourer at the honda dealer with only 7,000 miles. I dont know how much they are wanting for it because it is on consignment.

However what are yalls thoughts and experiences on this bike?

What is a reasonable price for one with low mileage and in good condition?

im no expert by any means when it comes to haggling, but to give you some ammo, check out the www.kbb.com for your zipcode..itll give you something to work with for hagglin. an ace tourer is exactly that,a tour bike for traveling great distances, its not your typical run to the store, bar hoppin type cruiser, with it being a 99 model and havin only 7k miles to me would be ideal purchase, provided it wasnt wrecked, ask for a carfax report by law the dealership has to give you one upon request..the kbb.com only lists what a dealer would give you for said bike for trade in,and shows what a dealer would ask for said bike...good luck..post pics when / if ya get it.

I sold my 2000 ACE T for $4,000 this spring. New battery. New Metzlers front & back. Floorboards & engine guard. Just turned 8,000 miles.

Bike was in great shape. I bought it from the original owner with 4k miles on it, and had it for one year.

Great bike. But, I bought it to ride two-up with my wife, who just can't ride due to back & knee problems. Sold it to buy a Harley Super Glide, which is tons of fun to ride.

Good luck.

I paid 3900 for mine this Spring, with 17,000 miles on it with the needed accessories like floorboards and engine guards. Keep in mind, floorboards, and other goodies, add $$.
As far as I can tell, they are very reliable and pretty darn comfortable. As always, the stock seat can use modifying or an aftermarket butt pad.
I have seen them go for a good bit more than what I paid, so it'll give you an idea.
I would 2nd the motion to go to KBB and see what it says.

Around these parts, $4K is a reasonable price. Personally, I love the looks of them and the 1100cc is pretty much bulletproof. I would guess that the dealer will have it marked up much higher.

Bought my 2000 ACE T for $3300 earlier this year after getting rid of my Aero 750. Sold my 04 Aero 750 for $4500.00.

Anyway it had 12,845 miles on it, a few extra accessories, such as engine guard, Vance & Hines Dual Bagger Exhaust, etc.

IMO a much better bike than the 04 Aero I had.

I think you will like the ACE Tourer.

Plenty of power, good looks with hard bags, etc.

I paid 3500 for my '98 a year and a half ago, and it had 46,000 miles, but perfectly maintained. I just paid 4,000 for my '88 VT1100C with 6400 miles about a month ago. -----Metalguy

I beg to differ. The ACE Tourer is not much different than any other Honda 1100, and it is likely much more nimble than a Goldwing, Stratoliner, or Voyager.

The "T" is a great, all-around bike. Bought mine 9/09 for $3700 with 7350.0 miles on the ODO. She has since been wrecked, re-built and ridden:

One thing that you will find, though, is that it has a much shorter first gear than the VT1100C Spirit since the "T" is a Touring model. I have found the bike to actually be quite nimble and can hit the twisties just fine. I have also shod her with Metzeler ME880's in the VTX1800 tire sizes (common change since Metz does not make tires in the stock Tourer size).

For "All Things Tourer", I recommend that you check out:

Everything you'd ever want to know about the T can be found here...

IMHO, the T is the Greatest Motorcycle Honda Ever Made.
