Default Please Help!! Anyone dealt with GM-Cycles.com?

I was hoping you all could help me out please? Anyone have any dealings with GM-Cycles.com? I am seriously considering buying this mustang seat from them with my tax refund. Honda VLX600 600 Shadow 99-UP Mustang Seat 75793: 75793 GM Cycles I just got a price for this same mustang seat from the guys i bought my saddlebags from, and with tax it came to 512$. If i order from GM-Cycles i could save over 100$! I just want to make sure they are legit before i order.

I must confess though im not very mechanically inclined, and if i bought it from the shop theyd put it on for free. Id really like to save a 100$, and try it myself! Would anyone here that has a mustang seat say its fairly easy to put on? Is stock seat easy to take off on a VLX? Ive heard alot of good things about the Mustang seat. It should be a huge improvement over the stock seat. I sure hope so cause after about 30 minutes my tailbone is killing me! I think itll look great with my new Leatherlyke bags too! Id really appreciate any comments, and assistance you have to offer!

When I bought a Mustang for my Aero, it took all of about five minutes to remove the stock seat and put on the new one. As long as you got the Mustang that is designed for your particular bike, it should be fairly straightforward.

It is simple. As long as you have a METRIC wrench or socket of the correct size, it's just a matter of unscrewing 3 bolts, lifting the old seat out, then put the new one in it's place and bolt it in.

^ nope, even more simpler, only two (two) bolts., metric hex wrenches, one bolt on the back two corners of the saddle. Remove these, pull the seat (pillion too) back, lift the front slightly and pull the seat forward to release the pillion posts from their holes in the seat. Easy,,even I did my own. Oh, you'll like the Mustang wide tourer..Much more better,,I put 54k on the stock seat, and the mustang seat is the best thing I've put on my bike.

Does the passenger pillion just snap into place or are there bolts that secure that too? How about GM-Cycles? The price is so awesome i was wondering if they are for real. Though wouldnt i be protected if they turned out to be a fraud by using my Visa debit card from bank of america?

How much is the seat? They are sellers on ebay. Haven't bought from them but have seen them around a lot. Here's a link to an ebay seat, they are not the seller

The seat with GM-Cycles is 393$ with free shipping so just about the same price as that one on ebay.

As long as you pay with the credit function and not the debit function, you have some protection. Why not use PayPal if you're concerned.

I found the same seat on Amazon for 395, and free shipping as well. I know im protected when i purchase there. I think im gonna go for it! Before i do would someone please answer my question about the passenger seat? Does it just snap into place or do you have to get under rear fender to fasten? From all ive read the mustang seat sounds like a great investment for my VLX and it should be much more comfortable!

Sometimes i feel like a nut spending all this money on my bike, but i cant help myself! It just makes me feel good! I get a real high by making the bike my own, and adding to its beauty. Id like to think these things add to my bikes value too! Like an investment. I just cant help but feel a little guilty! I feel like an accessorie fiend sometimes that needs help cause i cant stop on my own! Maybe someday ill have nothing more i want for my bike, and ill be able to recover from my disease!

If there is no bolt holding the rear pillion down, it most likely has a slide type fitting to secure it. That's how my wife's old 750 Spirit was. Buy the seat, put it on. You're making way more out of installing it then need be. I promise. W/ as many VLX's that are on this board, someone must know the secret if it's not what I just suggested.

another route you can take and will save you a couple hundred bux is to have the seat redone by www.meancitycycles.com

I have had a few done by them, they do great work and seats are comfy.
