Dyna beads in my VTX 1800 both tires rear car tire - 3oz, front Metzler with tube 2oz. Also 2oz in wife's rear Shadow Aero tire with tube also.
Both bikes smooth as silk and no issues.

Simpleman77 ran a CT on previous bike which was a VLX. He can give you the skinny on this subject.

You'll be fine with it,,though I recommend the Kumho in the same size.

Back to the car tire... it is a General Altimax 205/60/16 that I am running right now at 40psi.

Today was 54°, so I took it out for my first ride on a car tire. Honestly, I really didn't think there was that much difference. Rode about 50 miles in total; city streets, country roads, minor twisties, and superslab (took it up over 100 mph).

The Valk handled it all with no problems at all.

What I noted:

It handled just as well as it did with a m/c tire.
It braked much better.
It felt more stable on the straight-aways.
At triple digits it felt really "planted".
Felt the bumps at slow speeds just a tad more, but that was nothing.
It was most different at very slow speeds (under 10 mph), but nothing that needed only a very small amount of attention

Avon Cobra rear tire: $220, got about 8000 miles out of it.
General Altimax: $92, most guys getting about at least 25,000 miles out of it.

I can spend $92 and get the same miles that $660 dollars worth of Avon rears would cost me to get the same miles.

Unless there are some major surprises in the next couple hundred miles... I'm a convert.

YMMV
my bike beats me to death on bumps, feels stiff,i thought the 8yr old tire being somewhat harden was making it do that,,so the c/t can make it worse?.lol.....i cant really adjust the rear suspension anymore to make it softer because im afraid of bottoming it out with my weight.

Craig, the tire you show has different tread on each side (it's not symmetrical). I'm not DS (yet), but isn't this ill-advised? I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just asking. Then again, I see old dad is running that way on a bike identical to yours and he says it's fine so it probably won't matter.

Also, are you bumping up the diameter?

the tire i posted i found at walmart for 52..its alot cheaper then motorcycle tires id found..although,im still looking for a cheaper c/t as 52$ is still pricey for me now..so it wont necessarily be the one i posted.,,im goin to go with what was recommended which is a 165/80/15,a stock m/t for my bike is 170/80/15.

Oh, so you would actually be going down in diameter. Of course you could do a quick sprocket change to compensate, mine is shaft drive so I'm limited there.

Good luck! I really need to make this switch myself. You're mounting yourself?

My buddy runs the dyna beads in his corvette (85) tires, something about them makes them hard to balance, or they don't fit on machines or something. Anyway, he says they are great unless you hit crappy pavement and things get strange. Just something to think about if you live in a area with crappy pavement.
