Another thread was moved off the forum - only to maintain consistency - there was no malicious intent by the original poster, that being said should exceptions be made to this policy? As well how much is too much. Everyone seems to have a story about good natured ribbing with their friends or riding partners but how much is too much. When is that line crossed from teasing into just dumping on the brand or the people who ride them?

I'd like to see more leeway. I sometimes joke around with Harley riders at work and they joke around with me.

It seems very oppressive to me..removing a thread that mentions another brand..any rider on here who has ridden for a number of years will have ridden more than one brand, and there are Harley and Triumph riders on this forum who contribute good information..also relating experiences that happened during the course of a ride out can be of great interest..
Do you want the forum to become a place where the only posts allowed are those asking for help or giving it..The section where jokes were posted has gone so jokes are not allowed anymore.. But it is your forum..do as you will.. John.

It's gotten almost to the point where we cant even mention Harley. It's more like H@rley.
I've poked around a Harley dominated forum, and I'll just say that door doesnt swing both ways. To be clear, they dont care if other brands are mentioned for the most art, unless people are being out of order. I propose we do the same.

Now getting back to the original premise of this thread is to ask if the Harley policy should change.

I think the intent of the poster should be considerd, before removing it. If the poster is blatantly, attacking a certain brand, or people who ride said brand, then it should not be allowed. If the post was made without malice, or ill intent, on behalf of the author, then in the interest of free speech i think it should be allowed. There should be nothing wrong with some good natured ribbing, and mentioning of other brands of motorcycles. Its not that hard to tell the difference between good natured ball busting, and mean spirited attacks in my opinion.

But sometimes it is difficult to tell the difference between bantering and someone just dumping on the brand. That's why I was hoping for clear concrete examples of what is crossing the line.
