So I have been tossing around the idea of getting new handle bars the bike. I want to do a dragbar look with something like a 5-6 inch riser. If I run a setup like that will I be able to use the stock cables? Also where is the best place online to look at whats compatible for a 95 600 vlx?

Motorcycle Stock Handlebars Measurements - Stock Bars This might help. J&P cycles is a good place to shop for bars.

I believe he wants a drag bar style and the chart I listed doesn't list 95' but 99' and up bars has a 5 1/2" heigth/rise assuming this chart is correct. I used it selecting my bars last year going to a wider pullback style bar (2.5"). No problem with the cables etc.

I just put 28'' drag bars with a 3" pull back on my 83 shadow vt500. Required one inch risers to clear the tank. They are much much more comfortable than stock bars and i feel more stable at low speeds. I would recommend a sharper pull back though (4-5" would be a good angle). I found the stock cables to be a bit long, but if you are creative with your cable routing, it will work
