Yep. Tonight I'm riding to work. I've ridden hwy 13 from Bolivar to Springfield several times. Tonight I'll do it again only this time I'll be merging onto I-44, the. Hwy 65, onto James River Freeway to get to work. I am excited and a bit nervous. But I know I can do it.

Pay attention and use what you learned and you'll do fine.
Can't help it, here's what happened my first time: Last year was my first year riding. I decided to take the freeway a week or two after finishing the MSF class and have my wife follow me in her Blazer. I was all psyched up for it. The ramp where I was getting on becomes and exit ramp after about 1/10 of a mile. Traffic stopped halfway down the on ramp and it took an hour or more to get off that next ramp. They were sending 4 lanes of freeway onto that one ramp. Finally got off and went through the ghetto to get to another section of freeway...and it was exhilarating, still have a picture I took of my gauges with the bike off that I labelled "first freeway experience." You'll do well, enjoy!

Alright, I'm a wuss. Just read there's a wind advisory, 50mph gusts along I-44, and in the morning it will be 33 degrees w/ wind chill 23 degrees. Maybe I'll wait until after my MSF class on 3/31. I hate waiting though!

my second time ever on the highway it was rainy. i loved it.
bro, it's always gunna be windy, i drive the 05 version of your bike, and it handled highway like a champ. just go for it. give yourself a few car lengths in front, and watch out for traffic-weavers. a good bet is to keep yourself like 4 car lengths behind an 18 wheeler as noone is going to try to pass in front of you to get behind him.

The wind probably won't be an issue, but if you don't think you're ready, then you probably aren't. Build up to it if you need to.
The 33 degrees will be horrible if you don't have good gloves, and other gear, Depending on how long your ride is.

Missouri? I'll be moving out there in a few years, my sister lives in Kansas City.
My parent are in the process of buying a trailer/RV park in Buffalo, Mo, looks like that's right near you. You gotta get some miles on that bike so you can let me know where the good roads are out there!
