1. Fill Gas Tank
2. Add Stabilizer 3. Drive a bit to mix stabilizer. Usually just home from gas station. 4. Wash / Wax / Dry / Leather conditioner 5. Shutoff petcock 6. Flush Brakes 7. Change filters and oil and topup battery 8. Plug in battery tender 9. Cover Now the bike is prepped for riding once the weather cooperates. I have used this procedure for a long time and have a 69 Bonny, 72 Norton Combat and 78 Gold Wing along with the Shadow and all the bikes start with first kick or starter button press in the spring. I normally put Sta-bil and fresh gas in my bike in December and then ride it when I am able to do so long enough to get everything up to normal operating temp. That, plus a battery maintainer, have kept my bike in good shape through the winter. But this past winter was so mild that I was able to ride regularly and keep the gas turned over. First time in over forty winters of riding that I've never had to use Sta-bil.

Luke I live in West Covina but being a new un-licensed rider(gonna get to the DMV this week) I don't want to take it out to often. I am a company driver so I don't want to get tickets and ruin my license.

When I think it's cold or snowy enough that it may have to sit for a while...
I add some Stabil and give it a good cleaning. Then I cover it,because it lives outside. If conditions and circumstances allow me to ride, then I'll take it out. Otherwise, I'll let it be. The only problem I had this year was the starter button. It didn't want to work after it sat for a month or so. With the bike turned off, I pressed the button about 100 times to clean the connection, which solved the problem.

Only start it when I am going to ride it which I do a couple times a month, usually. The rest of the time, I use Stabil and a trickle charger.
