Had a throttle stick on my Suzuki Savage. Was very glad to hit the kill switch.

Put your key on a long lanyard and attach it to a belt loop. When you finish riding, you are not going anywhere until you remove the key.

Ride safe, man. And don't let ANYONE ever tell you that their opinions matter! You're a bigger lady than that! (P.S.: When you get that love tattoo done on your ass, be sure they spell "INDY" correctly. I love you, man!)
Holy crap dude ease up, All Gat is saying is the safety course teaches you to use the kill switch so you learn where it is, And it's NOT the only right way to do it. Some of the things you said experienced riders told you are just plain moronic and Gat also thinks so and he was only trying to get you to look at the situation with a open mind and you outright attacked him personally. We all don't have to agree on things or how we do things but when asking for a opinion that's what people will give whether you agree or not. Some here also attacked you and I also think that's a piss poor way to be but there ARE many ways to do things and the BRC trains you to learn where that button is. But it's not the ONLY way man.

How about you just give me a big wet kiss, and we'll call it even. That way we can all go back to talking about Crazy Daves bikini line and whether or not you should wave at a Can Am Spyder.

I will grant you the big wet kiss, and we'll agree to disagree. But if we must end with "you miss the point," then I'd ask you to consider whether you're missing any points. If you have 43 years of riding experience, people SHOULD hear your views and opinions. It's just a shame that you offer them surrounded by phrases indicating that others' opinions are wrong and they miss the point. Your wealth of experience could far better serve others on this forum when presented with a listening ear and a willingness to discuss -- instead of insulting at every turn and generally come across as (pardon my observation) a rude, holier-than-thou preacher. It's hard to take your wealth of experience seriously when you present your views by insulting others.

Now, as promised... you have my big wet kiss. And you have me thinking twice about waving at the Spyders, dammit. But hell, I wave at people on scooters.

Ride safe, man.

I use a retractable myself. I left the key in one day when I went to work and smacked myself in the head for not realizing that I forgot the key.

As I went to get on my bike my name badge (is on a retractable so I can swipe in and out of doors at work) got snagged on my seat when I bent over.

Thats when it gave me the ideal to hook my key to a retractable like my name badge. I NEVER FORGET MY KEY!!!! Lol

I'm considering something like that. So do you hook it to your belt? And, if so, do you feel it pulling on your belt? One guy here has suggested a curly-coil springy cord, which, while it looks silly, would seem to work!

I have a very inexpensive solution to the problem. Place a short piece of electrical tape over the kill switch. When you go to use the kill switch, you'll see the tape and remember to turn it off with the key. I figure you'll be able to remove the tape in a week or two.

Well I have mine alittle different. I hook it to my watch. So when I go to walk away it pulls it.

You should have seen me the first time I did that. I was like what the hell, but then I was like oh thats right. "Airhead moment"
