Default Windshield & long trips

I like riding w/o my windshield but, would you take a trip across the U.S.A. without one?

I wouldn't. What I would like to have is a sack of some kind that I could strap to my luggage or sissybar so I could pop the windshield off for the great days but have it with me for the nasty ones or stretches of e-way. But I've never cared enough to put any thought into designing the ideal sack for my bike, luggage and windshield.

On edit: The following is from a 300-mile jaunt.

That doesn't count the rocks.

After the amount of bugs I am cleaning off my windshield after 1 day of riding I'd say no.

Wouldn't ride around the corner without it much less across the U.S.A.

No way. After I see what hits the wiindshield on my fairing on a daily ride, I can't imagine riding without one anymore. It also wears on your body without a windshield after being in the saddle all day.
