Hi fellow riders, I have a question for you. I found a buyer close to me selling his 2010 Shadow Phantom for $6k with guards, saddle bags and windshield brackets already installed. But his Shadow has 8K miles on the odo which has me wonder if the bike is worth the price. Please tell me what you think is the good price or if i am already getting a bargain. Thanks again.

Not sure where those numbers are coming from. I just checked the Honda website. The MSRP for a 2012 Phantom is $8240. Kelley Blue Book doesn't have prices for 2012's yet. The retail price for a used 2011 Phantom is $6565. Searching nationwide on cycle trader shows that, with the accessories, his price isn't too far off the mark. His mileage is a little higher than average but it's not what one would consider high. I'd try to talk him down a few hundred but, based on what everyone else is asking for their bikes, I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to sit on it for awhile.

I got my 2011 brand new last May for just over $7k (about $7,800 w/5yr warranty out the door). Looking back, I would probably buy slightly used and save money for add-ons if I could do it all over again...
His add-ons probably add up to $700+ so I would say $6k is a pretty good deal if he maintained it.

After having just bought a 2012 Shadow and now adding the extras, that price doesn't sound bad. I've had mine a month and I am close to 1000 miles already.

With the accessories I'd say $6,000 is reasonable. If you had cash you could try to get it for $5,750 or so.

Thanks for the input everyone. The 2012 is listed at $8240 and I don't want to go above $6500 myself. My local credit union here won't finance an out of state titled bike (bank refused to finance a LA titled bike going for $5k, bike only) which is why I am looking everywhere in Austin and surrounding areas only. I am just a little bothered by the 8k miles when may be I shouldn't. I tried and tried to talk him down but he says the bike has a lien and that's about how much he owe the bank. Just for consideration, this is the link for the bike I am trying to buy. I may have forgotten to mention but he said he has ostrich skin seats, can anyone explain to me its benefits over the stock seat?
