Default Tire size questions

Hey guys, I know it's been covered but I couldn't find the answer specific to my question. I need a new rear tire for my 07 Aero 750. The front is ok. I want to get a Metzeler but I don't know what size to get. I read on here that the right size was 170-80-15 because there are more options with that tire. Will it be ok to leave the front stock tire on there and put that size on the rear? Will there be any fitment issues? Another question is what size tube do I need to get? Thanks alot guys!

Have you tried the Metzeler Fitment Guide?
Or the Metzeler Full Line Tire Guide?
Or looked in your MOM?

I'll bet every single one of them -- and a LOT of other readily-available resources -- have the answer.

Thanks I think? Metzeler doesn't list a tire for my bike, I've tried that and the MOM doesn't list a different size tire from what is on it now...

Page 3 of the Full Line guide: "Spec Tires: 120/90-17 and 160/80-15 for various Honda VT750 fitments"
Page 19 of same: "VT750 Shadow Aero 04-07 1733100 120/90-17 64S ME880 1733200 160/80-15 74S ME880 34/38 40-42"

Did you know that Acrobat Reader has a search function? That putting in VT750 will get you there MUCH quicker than reading the whole publication?

Please allow me to apologize for adlowe, and all other rude or quasi-rude posters on this board. Perhaps you may someday understand after riding many many miles, some of us old farts start to feel our hemmoroids flare up anytime some neophyte asks a really stupid question. Coming across as rude is inadvertent, because it is more or less a way to psychologically scratch that itchy pulsating stinking sphincter.

Now back on topic, it makes a lot of sense to plus-up the tire size. You get more miles for the same number of revs, and can drive over instead of around the four wheelers. This is very green as everyone knows the shortest distance between points is a straight line.

Matt y - I have an '06 Aero 750, although I don't know if it's exactly the same wheels etc. as your '07 --

Anyway, when i replaced my tires I got the Metz -- 120/80-17 front, 170/80-15 rear. Based on the recommendations of folks on another forum for our Aero 750's.

They ride great, bike handles real well with those.

Just something for you to consider.
