Been thinking of getting some. What do you have and how do you like it? I've been searching and the price range is all over the place. Here are some questions I have.
--Are they removable? --how big are they, how much do they hold? Can I put my jacket in one after a cold morning ride? --Hard plastic or leather? --where did you get them and how much? --do I have to modify the bike such as moving turn signals? Thanks for any imput or suggestions. dave

![]() cost was about 100 after buying the cutting boards, extra wire, bolts, and boxes. can fit 4 large sweaters in each one. mounts to the bars thru where the old reflector and signal light holes were. signal lights are cake to move, just a matter of adding more wire. the locks set me back an additional 30 bucks, and worst part is i ended up losing one that wasnt clamped closed properly =S Last edited by Hurg; 04-15-2012 at 11:42 AM. |

I have a set of pseudo-leather Willie & Max throw-overs, but I permanently mounted them to the bike. Got them on e-bay for about $75 bucks, with brackets. Unfortunately, the brackets were for a HD. They are larger ones, so I had to move the turn signals. Something like this: Braided Series Standard Slant Saddlebag Set | Willie and Max: Motorcycle saddlebags, sissy bar bags, motorcycle chrome parts, luggage, seats, windshield bags, tool pouches > Store > Traditional Style Saddlebags
No locks, but I have JS Whitney top case on the back that does lock. I can carry a LOT. I usually leave my essentials - bungees, slime, mini-inflator, extra gloves, frog-togs - in one bag. The other is for carrying stuff. I keep my extra helmet in the top case cuz I transport my kids frequently.

Got mine from RoadKrome.com they are lockdown tek leather saddlebags with a quick release.
Bought them because they have a key lock on the bag as well as being removable from the bike with one hand tightened screw. May have to empty the bag to get reach knob to remove them but easily done. They came with the tail light extension to relocate the tail lights.

Mutazu hard bags. Cost was around $215 incuding the mounts. Love the lights and the styling but quality is a little lacking. Like the locks. Big enough for a jacket or 2. I have no regrets with my purchase.

Leather Lyke.com Hard plastic and they are lockable. I believe they are around $150. I can fit two twelve packs of "Dizzy Pops"

Mine are from TSUKAYU. They are the Jumbo Strong Bags and are about $650 painted black $950 colour matched. They hold 40 Litres each which is more than enough space. They are made of hardened fibre glass and are well constructed. You won't need to relocate your turn signals and have plenty of room to position them on your bike. They would take about 15min to remove if you wanted them off.

We have LeatherLykes on ours, and like them. Easy to remove for cleaning. I've heard that they can crack as they age, but so far, mine are fine. Decent size, and the lid does lock for some small measure of security. I like the way they look with the rivets and tassels. They are kind of expensive (about $480 new), but I got a free set for Nancy's from a guy who bought some new ones. LeatherLyke sent me all the new hardware for them. You might find a cheap set on ebay, but they are a custom fit for every model, so check the application number, and make sure you buy the ones that fit your machine.
Good luck!
