I walked from the deal earlier today cubz83. I'm currently searching for other bikes to look at. I thought I found the Shadow I've always wanted but I think I might have scared the seller away from all the questions I emailed him! LOL! What can I say. I'm a little shell shocked from my first experience.

Yep. I cruised through eBay, CraigsList, and the local bikeshops already. I'm about shopped out for today! LOL! I have several I'm interested in but some of them are Suzuki Marauders. If I get one of them I guess I will have to say farewell to the forum.

zuki's are GREAT bikes! My friends 800 can keep up with my 1100 all day long. Don't limit yourself to a shadow. There are tons of great bikes for around 3k.

don't get in a rush, I know you want a bike and want it now, went thru same thing earlier this year, looking for a VTX1300, didnt find what I wanted, but while looking run across a killer deal on a 2003 Ace, bought it, will keep looking for that VTX, and now have second bike, that will be the wifes and I will keep riding my 09 Aero, and maybe trade it in towards the bike I want in the off season.

I just set up a meeting with somebody that's selling a 2000 Marauder VZ800. He said he would entertain my offer of $400 less than listed price. At least I will be going in to it a bit wiser thanks to my first experience.
My list of favorite bikes to have is: 1. Yamaha Vmax (1985-2007) 2. Honda Shadow Spirit 750 3. Suzuki Marauder VZ800 The Vmax is basically a pipe dream. I wouldn't want that as a first bike. The white 2001 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 I saw listed today is the bike I've wanted for years. I also really like the VZ800's. So the bikes are out there and I will take my time choosing the right one.

Glad to hear you were able to get out of that deal and back on the hunt for your perfect first bike. Good luck in your search!

The Marauder VZ800 is a great bike, Too bad you were not closer, I have a 97 going for sale soon (Buying a house so some toys have to go) Had a small issue but it's getting worked on by a private shop and a friend who runs it to make sure it's all good to go. Would have given you a great deal on it too with extras like highway bars and Mustang seat, Gotta get it worked on and make sure all is in good shape first though. OH and Suzuki list the VZ800 as a performance engine and it DOES keep up real well with my 1100. Originally got it for my girlfriend to ride with me (EX girlfriend now) and I kept it for a buddy bike so a few old friends of mine could ride with me.
