I will be glad when more people switch over to electric so I can afford more gas.

It would have to look cool and go at least 80mph, and come with optional cards to put in the spokes

Are they really fighting an "oil war" or a "greed for money war"? It's all about money, not oil.

Thank you to all who gave their all for this country, both living and dead. It's a shame so many have to die for this reason... War (as far as I'm concerned) should only be fought to maintain peace, not a company's bottom line or line the pockets of the corrupt....

The US has enough oil for about 200 more years according to some. I tend to believe it. If we were allowed to drill and process at US refineries for US consumption, there would be no shortage. All we need is to take the greed and corruption out of government (good luck with that...) and the US will be good to go. This doesn't take into consideration natural gas or coal.

Environmentalist are no help either, and so on and son and so on....

Where's a nice rock I can crawl under......

I have always preferred the battery with gas powered generator option.
In cars / trucks and maybe in bikes.
So that no matter how far I want to go I can recharge my own battery while I ride. Or while it is parked having the small gas motor recharging the battery.

I wrote a post but I closed it before I posted it.

The war is not over oil or money, but yes it is involved it drives the economy of every country and our lives. Biggest single cause we were attacked is our support of Israel which the Al Queda wants to see all the Children of Israel dead. It goes back to Abraham in the Old Testament so what are we going to do to stop that.

The war is over a terrorist attack. The Japanese learned they woke a sleeping giant and it awoke again on the next attack on American soil. We couldn't wait like cowards for them to leave us alone. We had to retaliate and make them go find their caves so we can drop them a present from the sky. It isn't over until we have smashed their camps and destroyed their weapons and communications. I am all for getting our troops home but we have to do it responsibly and not just a mass withdrawal like a whipped puppy running home.

I don't want to rewrite what I was going to post. It would completely hijack the thread and probably already have. Sorry.

'cause electricity is magically provided straight to my wall socket and doesn't require fuel of any sort to create.

I read a study that shows the power grid cannot support the popular use of electrical powered cars plugged in to be charged. I have a few family members who work in power plants and they don't think it will work out to well for the plants they work at. If there was a sudden demand on electric and the grid struggled what would happen to our power rates? I think it would be much worse than what we are currently paying for fuel. I have seen nearly a 30% increase in my electric bill just in the last year. Our government is just out to gouge us on anything to break us and control us. Wasn't it Thomas Jefferson who said "A government big enough to give you what you want is also big enough to take it away"? It seems they are taking away our dollars though massive deficit spending and inflation. I am middle class and I am not better off now due to their policies than I was 8 years ago making 20,000 less a year. I get paid more but everything is costing me nearly 3 times as much.

They would have to cost less than $11,500 for me to buy one.

ZERO S ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE

Aside from price the other specs are on board for me to commute to work and back and even have enough juice left for a joy ride in between.

That one shows starting at $11,500...

Anyhow, here in Ontario, our premiere did a pilot project on e-bikes... the program worked out so well, that they kept it... unfortunately... these e-bikes can be bought for $500 - $1100 or so... they have a top speed of 35 KM/h (yes, KM, not MPH)... you need no license, no license plate, no insurance and a bicycle helmet suffices... and yet, you ride them on the road, yes, the paved surface that all other REAL vehicles are on that can top those speeds, over and over...
Oh, they are fugly!!!

Now, one of these Zero Electric Motorcycles, look pretty sweet!
The speed, well, as long as it can do the highway speeds and still have some left for passing, that's great... I can't imagine how smooth it would feel though, with no vibrations from an engine.
