I had a hankering for an Indian but after researching them and reading the Indian forums, they are way too problematic for the price. But I love their looks.

The last couple of "revivals" of the Indian brand were more money-raising scams to bilk investors than anything else. This time with the deep pockets of Polaris behind it the resurrection will be real.
Whether the market is ready for an expensive alternative to H-D is another question. |

I could have 14 Shadows (what I paid for mine) for the price of one Indian.
Just need a garage big enough to fit them in. count 'em... (CAUTION: MAY TAKE A WHILE) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The 36k price tag the OP mentioned is for the 2012 model, which was basically a "left over" from the old ownership. The 2013 models will be the first ones built by Polaris with new designs, new engines, and at their new plant. And Polaris has said they want to put out Indians that look like Indians but with a much lower price tag.
Online speculation has been heavy that Polaris is going to release a smaller, cheaper Indian. Perhaps a mid-teens priced, 750 sized cycle, possibly bearing the Scout name, if not for 2013 than for 2014. I hope they're able to do it 'cause I'd definitely be interested.
