It definitely looks like a car tire, but I'm curious how it will stick while on wet roads.

Was it the tire, or the rider? Looks like he locked up the rear, from the skid marks. I think he was going in too hot.

I think he hit hard parts on the pavement which unloaded the rear end. Same thing would have happened with a MC tire. The mark is a yaw mark from the tire sliding across the pavement from the weight coming off the rearend IMO.

As far a CT, thousands of big bikes (and a few small ones) go through the twisties all the time with them. It's the rider not the tire.

could have hit the throttle too hard during the bank. I don't like the look of that tire on his lean (tetering on the edge).

Got any after pics to see what if he or the bike was beat up. At least he had his gear on. I did see his gloves had the finger tips cut off though.
