I took a route today that put me on a on ramp I'm not familiar with. It's one of those long ones shaped like the letter C. 3/4 of the way through the turn I was throttle on getting ready to merge onto I-5 and didn't notice the traffic control light with a car waiting for the merge light. ( I swear my head was only up my a$$ for a few seconds) 2 more feet and I would have known if I made the proper helmet choice. Be safe out there.

Yeah. Brakes are a good thing.
Me? At that point I would have been looking for which side I'm going to stuff the bike to go around them. My bike is only as wide as my mirrors and it's gonna fit somewhere. Comes from years of off road racing. Not advising you practice this Maneuver. Just a good practice to "Always" be thinking "where can I go to avoid disaster" if it seems unavoidable. Always best to just keep it slow on unfamiliar territory. |

I have had similar but it wasn't a traffic control light and it was a straight on ramp and I was looking over my shoulder to see where I could merge in and an old lady dead stops at the end of the ramp. I buzzed right up her right side because I figured if she moved it would be to the left. I was going to fast to stop from the point I seen her stop.
