Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins said the first was on U.S. 17 in the Briarcliff area near S.C. 22 where a motorcyclist struck the rear of a vehicle that had slowed down at a traffic light. That wreck was reported around 12:30 p.m.
At the same time, on U.S. 501, a car made a left turn failing to yield to a motorcyclist in front of the Grand Strand Nissan dealership. Collins said the motorcycle and the car collided and traffic was blocked while the scene was cleared. Around 2:45 p.m., Collins said a motorcyclist lost control of his bike while trying to stop at a red light on U.S. 501 near Red Line Motorsports. In all three incidents, Collins said the motorcyclists were not wearing helmets, but did not have serious injuries. In Myrtle Beach, two wrecks were reported at 4:18 p.m. on opposite sides of town. One was at 19th Avenue North and North Kings Highway. Capt. David Knipes with Myrtle Beach police said three motorcycles were involved in the crash and minor injuries were reported. The other wreck was at 2607 South Kings Highway. Minor injuries were reported, but details of that incident were not available. Earlier in the day, the S.C. Highway Patrol investigated a motorcycle wreck on U.S. 501 in front of the Nissan dealership that stopped traffic, but no injuries were reported. http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/201...6dy.St.78.jpeg Just this past weekend alone we lost four cyclists killed in our state, two of which were without helmets,” Smith said. “South Carolina is currently tied for first in the nation in the percentage of total highway fatalities caused by alcohol impaired drivers.” Read more here: http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/201...#storylink=cpy And yet another....This one rear ended someone my wife knows....The black bikers are nuts here UPDATE SATURDAY: Kevin Dunmeyer, 39, died Saturday morning, deputy Horry County coroner Darris Fowler said. The preliminary cause of death is trauma to the head and torso area sustained in the crash, but an autopsy has been scheduled for Sunday morning. His point is 1) regardless of the laws, wear a helmet. 2) Drinking and riding never mix. and 3) The level of stupidity exercised grows exponentially with the number of stupid people involved.
Ok, maybe not his point but still true.

Whatever one takes from any information is the Point or pointless
I read the information and learned the following points. 1. Helmet laws are not necessary.............knowledge and experience are far more important. 2. Not bad statistic considering hundreds of thousands of riders converging and comvorting now for two weeks in relatively small area partying and having a great time.. Rider fault in all but one out of 10 get offs.......... cases including ALL four deaths ( two of them wearing helmets) and it's only Saturday of th e third week. les than one rider out of 30 wearing helmets or any gear at all. See the pics...
