This is my first Shadow.
I'm pretty sure my bike would look as good or better with no tank emblems or something else there like a big Ace of Spades or a pinup girl or something... But I'm also not sure I want to deny the bike it's Honda-ness either. I like that it's a Honda... Anyway, what's the general consensus amongst longtime Shodow-ites on the topic...or does it never come up? |

Custom build bikes or bikes with serious custom paint work look good without tank badging. A stock or near stock ricer thats been debadged, just looks like its owner is embarassed to be riding it....
Pass on the cards/pin up girls. They have been done to death.

I liked mine when the bike was black but I had it left off when I gave 500 for the new paint she now wears. I was going to do the last sentence of the Footsteps poem but didn't want to hold up the next guy in line for his paint.

I would take it off if it weren't clear-coated on
I'm not gonna repaint my whole tank just to remove the branding.

Well, I used to de-badge bikes when I saw them in parking lots...you know scrape them off or knock them off? Harley's, Yamahas, Hondas, Kawasakis...I used to de-badge them all.
But since my therapy, I no longer have to fight that battle. It's been a real life-turn-around I tell you. Of course now I follow people home that have those annoying HID headlamps and like to tailgate me. I follow them home and when they are asleep...I smash them out with a ball pein hammer. Docs not too worried though. He says "Mongrel, we take one step at a time in this program...one step at a time..." So I'm cool with it for now. Yea, debadging used to be a real dragggg... Sorry to hear of your struggle man, but keep a stiff upper lip! Better days are comin'

Mine would be gone. Except that the sticker is under the clear coat.

I agree with others... unless you are going to do a full custom paint job... you're better off leaving them alone... but even if I were considering a full-blown custom job, I'd still have "something" on the tank to let people know I'm proud to ride a Honda!
