Today I got a set of saddle bag supports from Cavalry Customs. Great shipping, nice looking product but they don't seem like they'll fit right.
Take a look at the pictures, I have a sissy bar on that has maybe 1/2 or 3/4 inch spacers and if I put the bars on top 1) one of the included bolts doesn't get enough threads in to make me feel safe and 2) the bar just barely contacts the bottom of the spring. ![]() ![]() ![]() Obviously the sissy bar isn't required, and if it wasn't on there the support would be directly contacting the rear shock. Anyone else use this? I've never put any on a bike, hopefully I'm just missing something obvious.

I have the same supports. Take the spacers out and then put the supports in between the factory trim and the sissy bar. The supports act as your spacers. After getting them bolted up, pull the bottoms out until you get the desired spacing between the support and shock. They are well built and sturdy as supports but they can be tweaked with enough persuasion.

Awesome, thanks. I was planning to try and bend them but didnt want to get into that if they were wrong in the first place.
I wanted to use them as the spacers themselves, thought it would look better that way. Thanks for the pics, appreciate it. I have been using throw overs without supports and have a big trip next month, wanted to get this squared away sooner than later.

Not sure how you managed to bend yours without busting the welds! I tightened my bolts down and tried to tweak it a little and the damn welds gave!
I have a buddy who welds for a living and he checked them out and said they were awful. He tacked them back together for me and I'm bending them using a vice and a piece of pipe so they'll work now. I emailed Cavalry and said it was crap that the things don't bolt up right considering they list them specifically for the model (described as for the C2, 2007+). They first told me they "forgot" to send spacers, but I've already got spacers from my sissy bar, plus the thickness of the sissy bar itself! The included bolts would never have reached and I'd have this ugly wart of spacers on my bike! They actually refunded me though, so that was appreciated. Amazing how they can sell these things when they don't even fit.

I've got an 08 C2 and just bolted them up in place of the spacers. Then pulled out on the bottoms a little until I got them where I needed/wanted them. Sorry it didn't work out as well for you.

I'm having problems hard mounting Saddleman bags. I may have extra chrome plated spaces I got from McMaster-Carr if you need them. They were $30 for 8 of them. If you need them, please text me at:
three 0 one-five 8 0- nine 887, and I'll check if I have any extra. .

Thanks for the offer but I think I got it fixed.
My buddy did a great job welding the ends back on and also reinforced the other one. I was able to bend them more using a pipe and a vice. Haven't had time to try them yet but should be good to go now. Ridiculous that I have to go to these lengths, but then again I only paid $40 (and actually got it refunded) so for free in the end I'll have bars so whatever. Apparently others have the problem, saw a 1 star review just popped up for the product on their Amazon store with the exact same complaint as me.

I ordered the Calvary supports as well for mine and they were completely incorrect all the way around...
Apparently these are not for the A.C.E. Deluxe model even though they claim to be...they are on the way back and I had to pay A LOT more for the correct ones...ugh....oh well...not a fan of Calvary at this point....
