At least you are going home and not headed to work. My saddle bags have rain gear in them. The only problem is being able to guess if I need to take the gear into work or be able to leave it in the bag. I already carry enough stuff in.

I use the weather.com for hourly outlooks, 5/19 day forecasts, and their map lets you project 6 hours out. Not always perfect, but they are pretty on for our area.

Good luck, drive slow, good luck.

Rule of thumb: alot of the time on a bike you will be: too hot, too cold, or wet. Enjoy the ride.

It's the job only I know of where you can constantly be wrong and still keep your job!

Not me. I'm never too hot, too cold or too wet on the bike. It's when I get off those things occur cause I enjoy the ride. Just hate it when it's over.

Wow, if you took the word of a TV weatherman, you deserve a wet butt. The weatherdudes will give you a general "what to expect" for their greater viewing area, but conditions can vary widely across that area. Before going out on the morning commute, I check not only the daily forecast, but also the hourly forecast and the area radar maps.

I look at the radar for what storms are in the pipeline, which way they're moving, and when they're likely to arrive where I'm going to be. Maybe it goes back to my yacht racing days, but I've always considered weather forecasting as a personal responsibility.

Heh. I'm willing to bet that the weathermen see it as the only job where nobody remembers when you're right, but everybody notices when you're wrong.
