'Morning everyone...
Would you believe, I decided to drive my Chevy Silverado (with the AC cranked) into work this morning? I thought about riding my Aero 750, but then checked the weather channel. For Richmond VA, they are calling for a heat index of 106* today and have one of those heat advisory warnings on the TV too. Whoa... Anyway, as I drove into work this morning enjoying the AC in my truck, I didn't see one single bike out there at all. None... Nobody riding... There's hot and then there's just waaaaaay too hot...

ButchA, I know zakly what you mean! It's very much the same here in Okieland.
But for the feeling like you're riding into a blast furnace it's not tooooooo bad so long as you're moving, BUT get bogged down in traffic or worse yet, stopped at the traffic signal with the looooonnngest red light in town or at a railroad crossing for a freight train pulling what seems like 10,000 cars - oh, MAN that's hot! And at times like that, everything about it is hotter than blazes - bike's too hot to stay in the saddle, pavement's too hot to stand, and because there's NO breeze & NO shade, it seems like the full force of the sun's blistering heat is focused directly on the guy or gal straddling that firecracker in a frying pan! (Ouch! I think I just singed my brain thinking about it.

We all ride at our own comfort level but if my temp cut off was 100 to 105 there would be too many no-ride days here in AZ. Granted, most of those days are without humidity (it's a dry heat) but now it's Monsoon season and the dew points are up in the 60s, so quite muggy. Weather that will stop me out here would be a Haboob (look it up it's a dust storm) or thunderstorms.

I rode my bike to work yesterday and almost passed out while sitting in downtown traffic.

It's hot here in Texas. I've got an hour 1 way. As long as I'm moving I'm good. I've found creative ways to get to work so I don't hit too many lights.
