Been running one like that for quite a while. Mine is bolted on and I made a frame for the back so it sits straight.

Looks good! I've seen them mounted all kinds of places! Nice handy storage for the small stuff! Another option is a Solo bag but they're spendy!

Looks nice. I wanted something other than saddle bags also to carry some stuff, jacket, sun glasses etc. I found this on e-bay and got it for $22. it retails for a lot more I think, if I had a rear rack it would go there but since I ride 1 up all the time it fits perfect on the rear seat. It has a rain cover, side pockets and it expands sideways.
I don't ususlly have the saddlebags on the bike, this picture was just before I took off on a trip up the Calif coast

If they pop open you can have a leather shop put snaps on it really cheap

I really like this idea. Great for that stuff that is too big for pockets but not enough to justify the hassle of a backpack on the daily commute! I'm thinking one for each side, mostly because I'm a little compulsive and prefer symmetry.
