I know there are some larger guys on this forum and I'm wondering what you guys did for a protective motorcycle jacket.
I'm like 275 lbs with my beer belly bigger than my chest and can't seem to find anything that fits well. The instructor of my MSF class said the best place to try on jackets (in this area) is to go to the Motorcycle Show in Rosemont in February, that way I could try on a large variety of manufacturers and find the perfect one for me. February is a long way off and I plan to do a lot of riding between now and then. What did you buy? How well does it work for you?

I wear an older Joe Rocket 2.0. Had it for about 4/5 years now. The run a lil on the small side so I bought a 3XL. Right now I'm about 285 and it fits fine. I'm also very broad in the chest, back and shoulders and have a nice gut myself. Def try before you buy. I have found when you get into the bigger sizes, they don't seem to be sized like a regular jacket you'll find at the local department store.

Depending on how tall you are I may have a jacket you can try... can't wear it it's too big on me.

Still looking myself. I find I'm a XL in civilian clothes, and a 2XL in Joe Rocket.

Toure Master will work, you need XXXL, yep #X is what my buddy wears, he is a little bigger and his is tight, yours would give you some room. The Tourmaster Sonora is a great jacket! I am 245, I HAD a 2XLT if fit great, I have long arms and pretty broad shoulders, not much of a beer belly. The 2X may be tight on you.
Good luck. Coop

I bought a tri-tex this spring, the sizes do run small as I normally wear a XXLT I ordered a XXXXL yep two sizes bigger and it's form fitting. But it was less then $100.00
I like the removable liner and the closeable vents as well as the 3M reflective strip. Hope I never have to find out how well it protects. I hope a link isn't against the rules as I have nothing to to with the store. Men's Armored Tri-Tex and Leather Motorcycle Jacket | eBay

I've had luck with LeatherUp.com and my 5'11" 260lb frame.
A few years ago I bought a 3XL: Xelement Men's Classic TOP GRADE Biker Motorcycle Jacket It fit just great. I just recently ordered a 3XL Xelement Men's Black Pistol Pete Buffalo Leather Armored Classic Biker Jacket Being from the same manufacturer, I expect it will fit great too. XElement sizes small, so order a size over what you would expect to. They have a "no questions asked" return policy. I have had to make use of this before (for other items) and have no complaints at all with their customer service. Imp |

I got
in a XXXXL. I'm 6' and 350 lbs with a gut bigger than my chest. I tried the
with Level-3 Advanced Armor from Leatherup.com in a 4xl, but when it arrived it was way too small. The Olympia fits a little snug, but I'm not breaking the zippers. Mail order is the only way I found to get one. None of the local shops carry anything in my size. The local HD dealer said they could order one in my size, but it was an HD jacket and I didn't want to look like a poser.
