Glove suggestions

It's starting to get a little chilly in the eve and my normal, only pair of gloves aren't cutting it. Any suggestions on styles, linings, length, etc. from those of you who have gloves better designed for colder weather.

Best thing to do is go to your local retainer and try on gloves to find the ones that fit you the best. I found a set of FirstGear gloves that work well to about 40 deg F for rides less than an hour at 60mph similar to these Firstgear Premium Motorcycle Waterproof and Breathable Leather Gloves. If you are riding at slower speeds or warmer temps I have found these to be sufficient.

Agree. I got a pair of the First Gear Fargo gloves in the link above, and have been quite comfortable. It's been in the lower 50's here and no problems.

Gauntlet length so they cover the sleeve's for cold riding and the wind doesnt go up the sleeve.I always have them in the Back Pack along with a standard leather pair for the not so cold

I bought my bike in January of 08 and a supposedly warm to x amount of degrees pair of past the wrist gloves. Pffft. Waste of money. Still haven't found the answer to frozen hands or feet.

for like a buck you can by the lil pads that get warm and are disposable. Or you can spend some money for heated grips.

I bought a pair of cold weather gloves at one of the big bike shows a few winters ago. About $15 from one of the many vendors selling gloves, chaps, vests, etc. They are no name brand (I think made in India or something as most of the vendors selling them are East Indian) They have some Thinsulate in them. Work great. I've ridden all day in mid 30 degree temps with no problems. They are gauntlet length.

I haven't tried this yet since this fall/winter will be first on a bike, but I was told by an older, experianced rider to buy gloves at a ski store.

According to him, they are a lot warmer, pre-curved at the fingers and cheaper.

A cheap solution is to wear latex gloves under your regular gloves. Helps quite a bit.
