Canyon,
I'm sorry and don't mean to upset anyone but don't totally agree with you. I send gifts through the mail to people all the time... usually as surprises to brighten their day. I believe they mean as much to them as if received in person since sometimes that is not always possible. I am learning to ride because my riding buddy is 350 miles away. That doesn't make for me to get to ride very often... so far once a month is it. I got a bike and am teaching myself to ride because I love riding and am by myself most of the time and can't hitch a ride. So when I ride my bike, it will be alone most always. So as nice as it would be to work the way you say.. that's not always possible. Again, sure hope I'm not offending as I don't mean to. Hypostang, thank you very much for your kind offer. I truly appreciate it.

I'm not sure why people think its a terrible thing to ride alone. I'll ride with others but it's ultimately about me and the machine. Good on ya for riding, don't let the social aspect of riding get in the way of you loving your bike.

its about the ride not who you ride with, don't matter solo or group, just enjoy the ride and do your thing, with time you will meet other riders, some you wana ride with other you don't, I prefer to ride solo or with my wife or small group of people, like I said its about the ride, if I wana clear my head its a solo ride and sometimes it will take at least a tank full of fuel .

What you said and what the others that followed you said. You didn't offend me at all. No worries. It's definitely not about who you ride with, it's the ride that matters. Some of the best rides are solo. Hell my best ride of my life was the 2800+ miles I did alone. Granted I met a few HSNers along the way, but the majority of my ride was back roads, during the week so no weekend traffic, solo. And I mean SOLO. No one around... it was great! Riding with a buddy or a group is nice too. The main thing is to ride YOUR ride.
What I was saying about the bell being handed to you is just not about it being a gift alone. You are riding solo you WILL run into other riders. One of these days when you run into one, they will notice you have no bell. It takes a certain type of rider to notice and offer you up one. HSN has them. THAT bell would mean more to any rider than getting one in the mail. That's all I meant. Not to take away from anyone offering to send one either. I think anyone reading this will understand what I am trying to say. And about your buddy being 350 miels away... that's cool. But I bet you'd be surprised how many others you end up finding in your immediate area... Ride long, ride safe.
