So I had an 88 VT800 that I took as partial trade on my last project. I did a nice job turning it into a bobber, but I'm no mechanic and it had an issue with the brakes, front tire had some age cracks, leaked a little oil, and in general needed some TLC. It was a nice bike and listed for $1650 I got about 50 emails in the past two days. I had no intention of taking a trade for it but a guy came today to buy some mirrors from me and offerred to trade his bike (that he had for sale WAY overpriced at $3500) for an even swap. Even better, he let me keep the la Rosa seat in exhcange for me letting him take his turn signals.
So now I have a 1997 Shadow 1100 ACE. Brand new tires, brand new brakes, brand new exhaust, carbs just cleaned, all fluids just changed, 22k Miles.... the negative? Superman paint job.... but hey, I'm gonna turn it into a bobber anyway. I still have an 07 750 spirit that I am only just starting on..... but I guess now I'll work two projects at once. Could have worse problems

Great trade, but man, that Superman theme is baboon-butt-ugly.

That's really cool. Sounds like you got yourself a couple good projects going. Keep us updated on the progress.
