Default Cager not yielding

I was about to make a left where there is a car slowly creep up trying to make a left as well. I had right of way and he saw me coming. But he failed to wait so I had to make a slower, tighter turn. As I passed him, he had his cell phone in one hand.
I know this is just one of the things we as motorcyclists will encounter every day.

you ought to expect this almost everywhere. it's bad enough already that people don't pay attention to bikes nowadays but people with cellphones are the worst.

Honk, one figered wave and smile at them. I tend to yell out that they need to use the phone rectally.

Not going to do the finger. Too many crazy people out there. Any kind of stare or gesture could trigger a road rage. I still want to get home safely to my family.

I am afraid that motorcyclists are well down on the food chain.
Just have to keep aware (like you did) while riding.

I do it every day, albuquerque, and did it frequently in the worst parts of Phoenix, never had a problem.

The more you let people get by with something the more they will do it.. Help save your self and maybe someone else, let people know when they put your life in danger.

A solid foot into the driver's door usually helps too. But that's just me.

One great thing about riding a bike is that you're not limited to just one finger. In some cases, I'll wave my whole arm at 'em; sometimes both, in a "what the hell are you thinking" gesture.

The most eye opening "book knowledge" I learned in the ERC and one of the few that stuck over 30 years since. was

"I never HAVE the Right of Way" It can only be YIELDED by another. Legally dead is still dead." Until it is yielded, I don't really "have" it.

That little collection of words has served me well over the years.

We are all ant's in a world of shoes. I Never forget that.
