I like to wave at little kids on trikes.
Their moms like it . . . Sent from my iPhone using Motorcycle.com App

I always wave back if I can, I often initiate the wave too....but have to admit after riding a while I stop waving cause I'm tired. On top of that I find on a long ride on a 2 lane highway I end up paying more attention to oncoming motorcycles than the traffic, thats when it's about to stop waving for me too.

A funny thing happened to me the other day while i was out enjoying my ride. I was on a four lane road when i noticed up ahead there was a funeral procession coming my way. There was a police escort, and a lot of head lights, so in respect i pull over to the shoulder of the road, and as they approached i noticed that it was about 100 motorcycles on a poker run fund raiser. SO im pulled over and the wave begins.....lol....so do i take off or do i set and wave untill they all get by, I waited...LOL...........didnt want to be that stuck up rider.

wave (on straightaways) or nod head or lift fingers on left hand (if in turn) ... depends on what the situation is. Coming from the boating world it is the same thing. A brotherhood. I do play a game in my head and guess whether the other rider will acknowledge me or not based on their look and bike.

Wave when I can and I've been surprised at how many do wave back, thought this made for a good laugh:
