Default To wave, or not to wave?

That is the question.

I always try to give a friendly wave to other motorcyclists, but I'll bet 8 out of 10 of them don't wave back. What's the general consensus on this? Should I mind my own business and just concentrate on riding, or should I continue to wave if I can do so without putting myself in any danger?

Wave if you want to. Also, try to notice when your hands are too busy to wave back, and deduct that amount from the guys who don't wave back.

Ride your own ride. Wave if you want, don't wave if you don't want but don't make your happiness dependant on someone waving back.

Some riders are bummed that riding season is almost over.

They'll be waving like crazy come Spring.

anyone notice a correlation between riders wearing helmets and waving? maybe i'm crazy but here it seems like they are more likely to wave if wearing a helmet.

new riders wave a lot. I'll wave occasionally but if I'm comfortable or busy a head nod or hand up from the grip is gonna have to do it for you. I scan the road and don't look at every rider so I may not notice...

I always wave and am not concerned about a reciprocal wave. I wave back every time I am able to wave. Only time I do not wave is when my left hand is busy.

Most of the time I wait until the other rider waves then I normally wave back if safe. If they don't wave that just fine with me.

through the main season I find 8 out of 10 wave. Now if I see somebody else on a bike they wave back. you got too love the die hard enthusiast. myself I will take cold wind over no wind in my face.
