I'd like to do a completely under the rear fender 3way setup see pic 4. I wasn't sure if they'd be bright/visible enough to replace the brake and turn signals. Seems this might be a lower profile option to the cat-eye and be able to have the integrated turn signals under fender as well.

I second "justinmahn" - they are extremely bright, day or night. It is really worth buying combo running & brake.
I have a new (to me) Wing and am in the process of installing them on it right now. Hope to finish on Sat. .

I picked up a couple of strips of LED's at Wal-Mart, wired them into the brake light and stuck them on my saddle bags with the 3M tape they came with. Fairly inexpensive and people behind me say they are quite bright day or night.

I also have bought stuff from customdynamics. They are an amazing company with fantastic customer service. You can call in and ask questions to their tech line which is very accessible. When I ordered something a few weeks ago and then shortly after found something I wanted instead, calling and changing the order was a snap. I would highly recommend them. A+ customer service.
I purchased a TruFlex dual color run/brake/turn strip from them. It's pretty much what is in the below video but the blinkers are amber. Flexible LED Lighting TruFlex Flexible LED Light Strips (about 80% down the page "Custom Integrated 2 Section TruFLEX®") I have yet to install it but when I do I'll take some photos (tonight hopefully). I have a 2001 shadow spirit with the high tail and want a clean look so I'm mounting it directly under the tail light. I built a surface/tab out of the bottom of the tail light lense with some fiberglass that I'll mount the strip to. It was pretty easy to do. I'll provide details and photos later tonight.
